The name of Louvigne-du-Desert comes from its' history of being a place out in the wild forests inhabited by wolves. 'Loup' means wolf in french. Supposedly, a hermit lived with the wolves, by the big old granite stones. Some say he was a healer, whilst others tell other tales.
